A Historic First Annual Release

Port Ellen Distillery ceased whisky production in 1983, and its remaining stocks subsequently became highly sought after by whisky collectors around the world.

Released in 2001, this 22-year-old expression inaugurated the distillery's renowned Annual Release series.

The whisky was distilled in 1979, during the distillery's original production era, and matured for 22 years before being bottled at natural cask strength of 56.2% ABV.

The original label identifies this as one of only 6,000 bottles produced in 2001, individually numbered and matured and bottled by the distillers.

As the inaugural release in a series that became particularly desirable among collectors, this bottling holds special historical significance.

Condition

- Original front and rear labels are present and clearly legible.
- Individually numbered bottle: **1732**.
- The silver capsule has a visible tear/opening on one side near the upper section, exposing part of the material underneath.
- The capsule also shows minor creasing and surface wear.
- The fill level appears around the upper shoulder, below the neck.
- The original presentation box is included and shows some light age-related discoloration, spotting, scuffs and edge wear.
- Please carefully examine all photographs, especially the close-up of the damaged capsule.
