About Imperial Distillery
Imperial Distillery was located in the Speyside region of Scotland and began production in the late 19th century.
Following periods of closure and reopening, the distillery permanently ceased production in 1998 and was subsequently demolished.
As a result, surviving bottlings of Imperial are of particular interest to collectors of whiskies from lost Scottish distilleries.
This release captures whisky distilled in 1990, during the distillery's later operating years, and matured for 19 years before bottling.
Whisky Magazine Japan Special Label
One of the most distinctive features of this bottle is its Whisky Magazine Japan label, styled as the magazine's 2009 Summer issue.
The front label features a dramatic Japanese mask image, bold typography and tasting-note text.
The label also includes Dave Broom's signature graphic and the words "Selected by," giving the bottle a strong connection to the whisky-writing and collecting community.
With its unusual label artwork, single-cask identification and origins at a closed Speyside distillery, this is an attractive whisky for both Imperial enthusiasts and collectors of special-edition bottlings.
Condition
The bottle is shown without a presentation box.
The gold-coloured capsule is present. A small arrow-shaped opening feature is visible near the top of the capsule, consistent with a designed opening point; this should not automatically be considered damage or evidence of opening.
The front and Japanese back labels appear present and legible, with minor signs of age or handling.
The liquid level is visible in the neck area. Please refer to the photographs for the exact fill level and overall condition.
Vintage Whisky Notice: This is an older collectible whisky. The flavour, quality and drinkability of the contents cannot be guaranteed.
A distinctive bottling combining the heritage of the closed Imperial Distillery, 19 years of maturation and the memorable artwork of Whisky Magazine Japan.
