Description:

A rare independently bottled Bowmore 2000 12 Year Old, released by Tokyo-based 3Rivers Ltd. as part of its 10th Anniversary bottlings.

This release forms part of the distinctive “Dinosaur” series and features a striking illustrated dinosaur design covering much of the front label. The upper-left section of the label carries the 3Rivers “10th Anniversary” emblem together with the word “DINOSAUR.”

According to the bottle labels, the whisky was distilled at Bowmore in September 2000 and bottled in December 2012 after 12 years of maturation.

It was matured in Bourbon Barrel Cask No. 800281 and bottled at 52.6% ABV in a 700ml format.

Only 165 bottles were produced, making this a notably limited single-cask release. The present bottle is individually hand-numbered 64/165 on the front label.

Bowmore is one of Islay’s best-known single malt distilleries, and this bottling combines a 2000 vintage Bowmore with the distinctive small-outturn presentation for which independent Japanese bottlings such as those from 3Rivers have become known.

The rear label provides the full bottling specifications together with original Japanese tasting notes.

The tasting notes printed on the rear label indicate aromas and flavours including tropical fruit, citrus/grapefruit and smoky elements. The finish is described with vanilla and smoky characteristics.

The front label is particularly distinctive, featuring a group of long-necked dinosaurs against a muted landscape background. Along the bottom of the label are the Bowmore 2000 vintage, 12 Years Old, 52.6% vol, 700ml and 3Rivers Ltd., Tokyo details.

The illustrated front label appears generally clean and well preserved, with the dinosaur artwork, anniversary emblem, handwritten bottle number and principal bottling information remaining clearly visible.

A detailed Japanese rear label is also present and appears legible.
